It is an honor to be a part of each and every birth and I consider it a blessing to be able to serve as a doula. I founded Wild Mother Path to help nurture women in their pregnancy and postpartum period so they thrive and step into motherhood with confidence. I started my work serving women as a registered nurse in a NICU where I saw firsthand many women struggling in postpartum. A doula team also guarantees you a fresh doula at your side—there are no time limits, even in the event of an extended labor. Should your doula begin to feel less capable of being fully present and alert, your other doula can jump in, offering new energy and ideas to support you and your partner.
Our Offerings
I've worked specifically with women, people with high blood pressure, diabetes, as well as the general population. I was also in full-time ministry, working with college students and teenagers. In that capacity, I learned to meet people where they're at, to comfort and to hold space for someone. These experiences brought me to a new understanding of wholeness - body, mind, and spirit.

Childbirth Education
Caring for others has been something deeply rooted within me. My passion to assist families with newborn babies is what ultimately led me to becoming a Doula. I look forward to the opportunity to educate and help other families enjoy their experience as much as I did. From childbirth education, birth doula support, postpartum support, placenta encapsulation, and more. Katie Griffin, Founder of Kopa Birth,® is a Registered Nurse, Lamaze certified childbirth educator, and mom of 7.

BIRTH DOULA POSTPARTUM CARE DOULA
The doulas that work in partnership with Doulas of Charlotte have been hand-selected by Emily and Elizabeth to ensure that they reflect the values and professionalism the practice holds dear. The agency promotes these partnerships and long-term relationships to help raise the current standards of the doula community so they can best serve their clients. I am a birth doula certified through DONA International. I live in Mooresville, NC with my partner, Hilton; my two children Bowen and Laurel; and a spoiled rotten corgi named Boone. During my first pregnancy I attempted to take control over that fear and uncertainty around childbirth by learning as much as I could.
I am a DONA International Certified Birth and Postpartum Doula specializing in energy healing, herbalism, and yoga. I have completed 200-RYT hour training in Vinyasa Flow, 24-hr Advance Prenatal yoga teacher training with a focus on women of color through Black Orchid, and 85-hr prenatal teacher training through Awakened Spirit Yoga. I am inspired by the healing power of plants + herbs and have been formally trained herbalism for both prenatal support as well postpartum support.

YEARS OF EXPERIENCE
This ignited a desire in me to help other women have empowered births and to be the support they and their partners need to have a birth where they feel heard, seen, and understood. Your feelings toward your birth set the stage for your postpartum journey - preparation and support can make sure you start this journey, and new relationship with your baby, with your best foot forward. My heart for serving women gave birth to Viumbe Birth and Wellness, LLC. I believe strongly that I was created to help, serve, and care for others so that they can fully do what they were created to do. These massage certifications are what introduced me to birth work and now I can't imagine doing anything else.
I’ll be there for you—holding your hand every step of the way. My calling as a champion for childbirth is the best thing ever as I get to be a witness to miracles. Not only do I get to see babies take their first breath, but I also get to watch the transformation that takes place in you as you realize just how powerful and strong you really are. For the past six years I have loved every second of being at the bedside…well almost every second, because I could do without the charting and politics if I’m being honest. The important part is I have loved—like light my soul on fire, covered in goosebumps LOVED—supporting women in the homestretch of their journey into motherhood. I only get the homestretch, the final hours of a 10 month long journey.
